Welcome to Rose Street Saxo-Fest, where middle and high school students come together to create saxophone magic! 🎷 Join us at Almeta Crawford High School for an immersive experience, designed to mimic the excitement of a region band clinic, but with a twist – we're all about saxophone chamber music. At Saxo-Fest, you'll dive into new musical pieces alongside familiar faces and new friends, collaborating to craft a stellar program in record time.

Under the guidance of expert instructors, you'll receive personalized coaching to elevate your saxophone technique and performance skills to new heights. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, there's something for everyone at Saxo-Fest.🎶🎷

Meet your teachers

Nicholas Parker Bissen

Owner and Operator of the Rose Street Saxophone Room, Nicholas Parker Bissen, is an explosion of energy and motivation in the classroom. His students are active members of their band and music communities, performing in competitive recitals, placing in All-State ensembles, and winning concerto competitions. Nicholas has been on faculty for Harris County Community College and Stephen F. Austin State University, currently maintains a full teaching studio, and frequently collaborates with HISD’s High School for Performing and Visual Arts, and the American Festival for the Arts. As an active member of Houston’s vibrant performance community, he has performed with Musiqa and DACAMERA. Nicholas’s current project, “Reed The Room,” is funded by the Houston Arts Alliance, and involves commissioning a new work for reed quintet by Mark Buller and a performance at the end of June at MATCH - hope to see you there!

Jaymee Lamprecht

Jaymee Lamprecht is a Houston-based saxophonist and educator recognized for cultivating thoughtful, confident musicians with a strong artistic voice. She maintains a private studio serving students across the Houston area, including Pearland High School and Elkins High School, and directs the Krakens Saxophone Choir.

Her students consistently perform at a high level, earning placements in competitive ensembles and honor groups through a focused approach that emphasizes musicality, discipline, and individuality. Lamprecht also serves on faculty at the Great Plains Saxophone Workshop, where she has been teaching since 2013.

An active performer, she appears regularly with the Conrad Johnson Orchestra, Sandy G y Los Gavilanos, The Houston Saxophone Quartet and the Gulf Coast Concert Band. 


Zachary MacDonald

Presser Scholar and concerto soloist, Zachary MacDonald is the Assistant Director of Bands at the award winning Almeta Crawford High School. Zachary grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from Vandegrift High School in Leander ISD. He graduated from Texas State University with a degree in music studies. During his time in college, Zachary was the Principal Clarinet of the Texas State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jacob Harrison. Zachary won the school of music concerto competition and performed "Black Dog" by Scott McAllister at the "Concert of Soloists" with the Texas State Symphony Orchestra. Zachary was taught Clarinet by Dr. Vanguel Tangarov and performed in the Mid-Texas Symphony along with his teacher. Zachary is also a proud member of the marching arts, having served as the Drum Major of the Texas State Bobcat Marching Band and being a member of the baritone section at The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
